Marvel
MARVEL! provides content that is more reliable and relevant than what is available for free via many Internet sites. This can used as a great resource for students to use while doing any type of research project/paper. I plan on having students access MARVEL! during our next research project/paper. This will give students a collection of full text and abstracts from magazines, newspapers and reference books that are from more credible, reputable resources. This will give the students the practice and knowledge needed in using databases for learning opportunities. This also allows students the ability to search a number of resources at one time for needed information.
Session 2 Discovery
I used freetech4teachers, and found a few resources that I could use in the classroom. One link that I liked was one for maps of war. Maps-of-War presents a special list of the best
multimedia war maps from the world wide web. I am currently doing a unit on WWII, and this site will be a great supplement, providing a visual play-by-play history of WWII from the invasion of Poland in September 1939 to the unconditional surrender of Germany in May 1945. I plan on using this to coincide with my PowerPoint presentations to visual depict what was happening at that point of the unit.

Slideshare
Have students create a PowerPoint presentation on a specific topic. Then have them upload their presentations to Slideshare and have them assess and critique each others presentation.
Have students find a presentation on Slideshare for a specific topic and have the students critique the presentations.
Post class presentations for students to access remotely
Some possible problems that could occur would be:
Access to computers
Inappropriate content/comments
Reliable information
